Hello, and thanks for stopping by!  I am a full-time student and a mom.  My 14 year old son is 6’5″.  He is awesome and cute and occasionally ornery.   I like to bake, make art, drink tea, and write.   I have a small, sunny backyard.  I like to grow flowers, and an occasional vegetable.  I also like to ride my bike, and shop in thrift stores.   I was born in Massachusetts and raised in New Hampshire.  Now I live in Northern California.  Welcome to my world.

  1. Hello Zahara. I am devout follower of Fix it or Deal and you herewith get recognized. Now I am 61 and my first post was July 31. I am a newbie, huh? And no one to give blog lessons. I was a high school history teacher for 34 years. I don’t think a journal of one’s day’s activities interests too many people. Unless you are the president or a serial killer .Masks were cool. I love lentils. The brown ones. I add 1/2 cup of spinach, one carrot sliced thin and chop just one link of sausage. Tad of garlic(I use no onion-think it overpowers all the food taste). Now cluttered desk top appeals to me. And pictures from junk store can be intriguing . I found a Jesus I liked too. He is playing soccer with little children. Isn’t that delightful? I think your prose seems to have a very poetic rhythm to it. Well so long. My post mostly humor and cartoons so it’s back to the colored pencils for me now. Was that insect a walking stick? I would love to read about your conversation with the fellow. Or gal.

Hello Carl, thanks for stopping by. My son’s middle name is Carl, as is his father’s and his grandfather’s. I appreciate your input. History teacher for 34 years, you must really know your stuff. Last semester I studied U.S. History, up to the Civil War. Loved it. Soon the rest of the story, there’s so much to learn. I like onions in soup if they’ve been slow-cooked to carmelized sweet perfection, as in the base of French Onion Soup. Jesus playing soccer? Bring it on. The insect was a centipede. I did not speak to him/her, except to say “Bon Voyage” as I tossed his watery bath over the railing. I’m off to visit your blog, and thanks for the thoughtful suggestions. Z

Hello Zahara! I sure hope that boy of yours has a basketball in his hands at all times now! 🙂 I got a 13yr old pushing 5’6″ and he thinks he is bound for the NBA…. Your boy could probably crush him like a bug. Have a great day! 🙂

You’re 13 year old could probably run circles around my little giant. Mine could possibly crush yours with one of his thumbs, as they are very strong and agile due to excessive gaming, (uncensored and unrestricted when at his Dad’s house). Thanks for stopping by!
